"He's got a lot of tools" - Denis Puric offers initial assessment of ONE Fight Night 26 rival Elias Mahmoudi
Muay Thai legend Denis Puric meticulously scouts his opponents before fighting them. He recently revealed what he has observed from closely watching ONE kickboxing and Muay Thai star Elias Mahmoudi's body of work.
In an exclusive interview with the world's largest martial arts promotion, 'The Bosnian Menace' shared his thoughts on his opponent at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6:
"I think he's a great fighter. Very aggressive, long. He's got a lot of tools, and he uses them very well."
Since the third-ranked ONE flyweight Muay Thai contender's bout with Mahmoudi inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand will be held under Muay Thai rules, many would instantly point to Puric having the advantage due to his experience.
However, the Mahmoudi Gym product has a six-inch reach advantage over the veteran striker, which he has used to great effect in unanimous decision wins against Yukinori Ogasawara in January 2019 and Lerdsila Phuket Top Team in December of that same year.
The Algerian standout is entering ONE Fight Night 26 off back-to-back finishes of Taiki Naito this past August and Edgar Tabares in August 2023 at ONE Fight Night 13.
Danial Williams breaks down Denis Puric, Elias Mahmoudi showdown
Three-sport ONE Championship star Danial Williams is among those who will be closely watching Denis Puric and Elias Mahmoudi's potential world title eliminator at ONE Fight Night 26.
'Mini T', who will also feature on the card in a strawweight Muay Thai battle against Thongpoon, shared how their fight might go down in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA:
"It's going to be a tough [one] for Puric. So I'll edge Mahmoudi. But make no mistake, Puric can take a lot of damage."
ONE Fight Night 26 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
