"He's just a big mouth" - Mansur Malachiev can't wait to get his hands on trash-talking interim strawweight champ Jarred Brooks
Fifth-ranked strawweight MMA contender Mansur Malachiev has quietly bit his tongue amid Jarred Brooks' personal attacks.
While the interim strawweight MMA world champion has pretty much taken aim at everyone in his division, he also branded Malachiev as a one-dimensional wrestler with limited striking skills.
Brooks has also confidently claimed that he'll make quick work of the Russian star when they share the ONE Circle.
Contrary to 'The Monkey God's flamboyant microphone skills, Malachiev is the type of guy who'd rather let his actions do the talking.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, the 32-year-old responded to Brooks' criticism and promised to deliver justice in a potential match down the road.
“In my opinion, Brooks will never be very complimentary about my skills, judging by the strong words we’ve exchanged on social media. His biggest mistake is that he talks too much. One day, I will prove to him that he’s wrong about me and that he’s just a big mouth.”
This coming Friday, Mansur Malachiev will get the opportunity to potentially set a date with Brooks if he can get past the second-ranked Bokang Masunyane at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs Eersel II will air live in US Primetime on October 4, free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Mansur Malachiev eager to prove Jarred Brooks wrong at ONE Fight Night 25
After being doubted by Jarred Brooks, Mansur Malachiev wants to prove that his striking is on par with his world-class Dagestani-style wrestling.
Considering his ONE Fight Night 25 opponent Bokang Masunyane is quite the grappler as well, the Russian says he'll light up 'Little Giant' on the feet.
Malachiev told ONE:
"I’m going to be able to use my striking more and look for a finish there if the wrestling cancels each other out."
