"He's like Nikola Tesla" - Joe Rogan credits Elon Musk's $44 billion Twitter acquisition for preserving freedom of speechÂ
Joe Rogan has credited Elon Musk for his acquisition of Twitter/X, believing the move has helped to preserve freedom of speech across the globe.
Back in 2022, Musk made headlines around the world when his purchase of X (formerly known as Twitter) went through. The Tesla CEO spent $44 billion for complete ownership, and has since spent his time attempting to make the social media platform the biggest hub in the world for freedom of speech and the most accurate source for people to get their news.
Whilst Musk has been praised for his efforts, it hasn't been without controversy, as large groups of users now believe the laxed approach to censorship on the platform has invited more hate speech and bots.
Rogan then opted to have his say on Musk's ownership of X during episode #2204 of the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE). According to the UFC color commentator, Musk should be considered a history maker and compared him to inventor/engineer Nikola Tesla. He said:
"He's [Musk] literally one of the most significant human beings historically, ever. He's like a Nikola Tesla type character that people will be talking about 100 years from now...There's a lot of people out there who are fools who serve as education to others...not him."

Joe Rogan discusses how Elon Musk's relationship with NASA may keep him quiet on controversies
During the latest episode of the JRE podcast, which also featured Matt Walsh, Joe Rogan discussed Elon Musk's relationship with NASA and how it may prevent him from weighing in on some of the biggest controversies in human history.
Whilst chatting with Walsh, the pair eventually moved on to the topic of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969 and the conspiracy theories surrounding it. Although it is considered to be one of the biggest technological feats in history, it has also been marred with controversy, with many believing the footage of the landing had been faked.
Walsh argued that if anybody knew the moon landing wasn't real, it would likely be Elon Musk. Rogan, however, countered with that even if Musk was aware, his relationship with NASA would likely prevent him from ever revealing it. He said:
"He [Musk] has a contract with NASA. He has to be very careful about what he says and does. For him to say something incredibly insane like we never meant to the moon. That would be a big risk with zero reward because there's no way to prove we didn't go to the moon."
