“He’s a little rattled” - Oscar De La Hoya claims Ryan Garcia’s recent antics are taking a psychological toll on Devin Haney
Oscar De La Hoya was on hand as Devin Haney shoved Ryan Garcia atop the Empire State Building ahead of their WBC super lightweight title bout this weekend. The International Boxing Hall of Famer recently revealed that he believes the antics of 'KingRy', who is signed to his Golden Boy Promotions, are getting to 'The Dream'.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour, 'Golden Boy' stated:
"He is the cash cow. He is the money-maker. We'll have a sell-out crowd here at Barclays. The pay-per-views are going to go through the roof. It's going to be crazy and it's all because of Ryan. Yeah, he is fighting a top-world champion, who is serious, who wants to be great as well, who is a master boxer, but look at what Ryan has done to him psychologically."
De La Hoya continued:
"Devin Haney pushing Ryan at the Empire State Building when they meet. I've never seen that from Devin. I think he's a little rattled. So, Ryan's doing something that only he knows he's doing and he's getting under his skin... Just like [Floyd] Mayweather would get under everybody's skin, I think Ryan took a page out of Mayweather's book."

Oscar De La Hoya reveals lofty expectations for Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia
Devin Haney is set to defend his WBC super lightweight title against Ryan Garcia this weekend. Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes the latter, was asked how he expects the bout to perform during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, responding:
"One of the biggest, top-ten pay-per-views of all-time. Absolutely, this is huge. It's really big. It's succcessful. It's successful already. I think Ryan is a master artist when it comes to promoting and promoting himself and promoting fights and getting under somebody's skin. He's figured it out. He has the talent."
