"He's strong and technical" - Lito Adiwang on what makes Jarred Brooks a formidable adversary for anyone in the division

Jarred Brooks quickly cemented himself as one of the top strawweights in the world after arriving at ONE Championship.

'The Monkey God' was able to hit the ground running in his new promotion where he had ambitions of making it all the way to the top.

Brooks did just that after producing a four-fight win streak which ended him with dethroning Joshua Pacio at ONE 164 to become the world champion.

Having lost his title in dramatic circumstances in a rematch with Pacio, Brooks is now back to being the hunter.

In the main event of ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2, he will face off with Gustavo Balart where one man will leave Lumpinee Stadium as the new interim champion.

Pacio's injury is likely to keep him out of action for the majority of 2024 if not longer but in his absence, Brooks looks to prove that he is still the best in his weight class.

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Lito Adiwang, who welcomed Brooks to the promotion in his debut, spoke about what the American contender brings to the table.

He believes that a combination of his skill and physical attributes is what makes him such a tough opponent at strawweight:

"That was really his bread and butter. He's an amazing wrestler. Jarred is strong, powerful, and has the perfect technique. He's strong and technical, those are his big advantages against me."

Lito Adiwang is a good judge of Jarred Brooks

Between them, Lito Adiwang and Jarred Brooks have faced the majority of the top fighters in the strawweight MMA division.

This means that whilst beating Adiwang was a strong statement for Brooks' debut, 'Thunder Kid' was able to learn a lot from this fight to add to his experience.

Being outgrappled by his opponent back in November of 2021 meant that Adiwang knew just how good Brooks was back then.

The wrestling of 'The Monkey God' is sure to be called into question by his opponent and the skill set that Balart brings to the table.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live in US Primetime, free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
