"He's at the top of the division" - Gustavo Balart honored to face tough Jarred Brooks for ONE gold
Gustavo Balart's time to shine has come, and he vows to make the most of it come August 2.
That evening, the third-ranked strawweight MMA contender collides with Jarred Brooks to determine the interim king. Their clash takes place inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
It has been a long time coming for the Cuban veteran, and whether or not he can rack an upset against 'The Monkey God' remains to be seen.
For now, however, he recognizes how big of a fight this could be for his brand-building mission on the global stage.
Speaking to SerEbro EnlosDeportes, Gustavo Balart shared:
"This fight is really good in terms of exposure. It helps me. He's at the top of the division, he is number one, and I am the number three."
With four successive wins under his belt already, he now finds himself just one victory away from the gold that he's been chasing for the past couple of years.
Given the stakes and the significance of this match for 'El Gladiador,' he should be all ready to produce another firework display inside the Thai capital next month to return back home as the ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion.
