"He's a warrior, I don't see him ducking anyone" - Fans react to Dricus du Plessis exploding on Alex Pereira over allegations of evading fight
Fans sided with Dricus du Plessis as he furiously reacted to Alex Pereira's recent remarks. Following du Plessis' successful UFC 305 defense against Israel Adesanya, Pereira expressed the desire to go back to the middleweight division to fight the South African. The rivalry seems to be gradually heating up since then.
During an interview with Full Send MMA after Noche UFC 306, Pereira claimed that du Plessis tends to dismiss the proposed fight against him because he is scared.
@ChampRDs transcribed Pereira's opinions in a recent post on X. The comments seem to have irked the middleweight champion as he took to the platform and gave a strong-worded reply to 'Poatan':
"'A scared clown.' How dare you! Now that's taking it too far. I've already said I'm in to fight either you or @SStricklandMMA. What more do you want or should I tag your translator?"

Dricus du Plessis thinks Alex Pereira's move to middleweight will come with built-in excuse
Alex Pereira did not pursue a trilogy fight against Israel Adesanya despite the fierce rivalry after his vicious UFC 287 KO loss. Reports claimed that Pereira had decided to move up to light heavyweight because the weight cut to middleweight was too draining for him.
When Dricus du Plessis was informed about Pereira's callout at the UFC 305 post-fight press conference, 'Stillknocks' responded:
“I honestly don’t think Alex Pereira should drop down to 185. If he wants to, great, perfect. But then we’re going to hear the excuses. I saw Izzy stiff that man in the first round. I felt Izzy’s punching power tonight. Izzy has great timing, he’s fast, he’s long and he has great combinations, but I felt the power. If Izzy stiffens you like that, you do not want to be in there with me, especially not when you’ve got to come in there with the excuses, ‘Oh, I cut too much weight.’ That’s going to happen. Everybody’s going to say it.”
