"He is a star" - Jarred Brooks believes heavyweight MMA title challenger 'Reug Reug' is destined for greatness
Former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks won't be surprised if 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane rises to superstardom in the coming months.
After spending time with the Senegalese giant, 'The Monkey God' believes he has the skills to make it big and the 'It factor' to resonate with the fans.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, Brooks shared why he thinks 'Reug Reug' could be ONE's next great heavyweight:
"If I was in ONE Championship, I'd be blowing it up. I'd be blowing it up, man. 'Reug Reug' is a rising star, dude. Like, I think 'Reug Reug' could be a movie star. He is a star - period. He can do anything and he can captivate attention."
The title of ONE's most prominent heavyweight is currently taken by none other than three-division MMA world champion Anatoly Malykhin.
It just so happens that 'Reug Reug' will be the Russian's next challenger at ONE 169: Atlanta for the heavyweight MMA world title on November 8 at State Farm Arena.
This match will indeed be a potential career-defining moment for the 32-year-old, who has won his last three MMA bouts in the home of martial arts.
We'll soon see if Brooks' assessment is right if 'Reug Reug' pulls off the shocker at ONE 169: Atlanta.
Tickets for that blockbuster event are available via Ticketmaster.
'Reug Reug' has sights on Anatoly Malykhin's heavyweight and light heavyweight belts
'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane is ready to capitalize on the opportunity of a lifetime and dethrone the mighty Malykhin.
Turns out, the 971 MMA and Black Panther Sports product is eager to become a two-division MMA king by taking away two belts in 'Sladkiy's possession.
He told Sportskeeda MMA in an earlier interview:
"It's my belt, you know. I'm going to win this fight, Insya-Allah. Then I'm going down to 100kg, I'll go to light heavyweight, and I'm going to win."
