“He wants the belt back with a lot of rage” - Alexis Nicolas expects feistier Regian Eersel in rematch
Alexis Nicolas knows that Regian Eersel will do what it takes to reclaim the belt he took in their first encounter.
The two striking aces are scheduled to headline ONE Fight Night 25 in a lightweight kickboxing world title rematch, and the Frenchman knows his opponent will come at full force, even feistier than before.
However, the 26-year-old is confident that he will be able to take his opponent down this time and show the world what it means to be a true ONE Championship world champion.
Nicolas told the South China Morning Post about what he expects in Eersel during an interview ahead of their main event tilt inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium on Oct. 4:
"I think Eersel is really strong, but he can’t really do more than what he used to before. So for me, it will probably be the same, maybe just more an emotional fight because he wants the belt back with a lot of rage. But it will be the same for me."
When asked whether he would score a knockout, he added:
"Yeah, I expect to finish because I’m better than ever, I’m in the best shape ever, and I trained very hard for it. Now it’s my belt, and it’s our belt as a country, so I have to keep it."

Alexis Nicolas convinced Regian Eersel won't be able to touch him again
Brimming with confidence, Alexis Nicolas stated that he can deflect and evade Regian Eersel's bombs, and that's what he's going to showcase again at ONE Fight Night 25.
In a previous interview with ONE Championship, the titleholder said:
"I have a different style. He didn’t touch me, but I was able to touch him. The judge only loved the violence. He got himself punched, I was able to protect myself, he wasn’t able to touch me, but when I hit him, he fell down."
But while it is true that nothing is set in stone just yet, we can be sure that both Alexis Nicolas and Regian Eersel will throw everything they've got to aim for a decisive win.
ONE Fight Night 25 will air live in U.S. primetime and free of charge for all Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
