“He will give me no problems” - ‘Reug Reug’ confident he’ll be the kryptonite to three-division MMA kingpin Anatoly Malykhin
'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane believes Anatoly Malykhin will "give him no problems" at ONE 169.
Over his last three fights, Malykhin has become an undisputed three-division MMA world champion by capturing the middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight thrones. In June 2023, the Russian knockout artist secured the strap for the heaviest weight class and now looks to defend it for the first time.
Next Friday, November 8, Malykhin will headline ONE 169 in a must-see matchup against 'Reug Reug.' The Senegalese powerhouse holds a promotional MMA record of 5-1, including an ongoing three-fight win streak.
Kane recently spoke with ONE Championship about his upcoming opportunity. Despite Malykhin's reign of terror, the 32-year-old heavyweight challenger isn't concerned about the danger, as he had this to say:
"He will give me no problems. He’s going to do nothing. This is my time, Inshallah."
The November 8 event goes down inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok. Anatoly Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' won't be the only world title fight, as the must-see matchup is joined by Rodtang vs. Jacob Smith (flyweight Muay Thai) and Jackie Buntan vs. Anissa Meksen (vacant women's strawweight kickboxing).
ONE 169 will air live in US Primetime free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
What would win at ONE 169 do for Reug Reug's legacy?
'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane was initially seen as a Senegalese wrestler who needed to evolve into a well-rounded mixed martial artist. Since his ONE debut, Kane has proven he has the power and striking improvements to be a threat on the feet, making him a dangerous opponent for any heavyweight.
Kane showcased his striking skills in his last fight, as he knocked out Boucher Ketchup in round one of his lone promotional kickboxing bout.
At ONE 169, Kane has an opportunity to take his star power to the next level by becoming a world champion. Furthermore, the 32-year-old could make history by becoming the first fighter to defeat three-division king Anatoly Malykhin.
A win against Malykhin would be life-changing for the Senegalese heavyweight. Only time will tell if he can make the dream a reality in Bangkok, Thailand.
