Henry Cejudo breaks down how Conor McGregor has used his "greatest gift" wrong since double champ era
Henry Cejudo recently claimed that Conor McGregor has not used his gift of "anticipation" to his advantage in his last few octagon outings and believes that to be one of the reasons behind the Irishman's recent losses.
With McGregor expected to make his return to action this year, Cejudo gave his take on what he should do to fix his game and return to winning ways. The 35-year-old recently broke down two of McGregor's previous fights, analyzing some of the MMA superstar's best and worst moves.
In a video titled "How To Fix Conor McGregor," Cejudo reviewed footage from UFC 205 (McGregor's fight against Eddie Alvarez) and UFC 257 (McGregor's rematch with Dustin Poirier) to compare his fighting style and techniques. Highlighting the difference in his approach between the two performances, Cejudo said:
"[Referring to McGregor vs. Alvarez] Look at how relaxed and composed he is. Look at it. Notice how he's peppering that hand, he's catching it... Notice how he anticipated that shot. If there's one thing I will say about Conor McGregor, his greatest gift is anticipation."
Henry Cejudo further went on to analyze McGregor's risky positioning in his bout against Poirier, which resulted in 'The Diamond' catching him clean multiple times.

Michael Bisping believes Conor McGregor will get a title shot with just one win
Conor McGregor has been out of action since mid-2021 when he fractured his leg in a bout against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight at UFC 264. The Irishman is now set to make his long awaited comeback later this year.
McGregor's last win came against Donald Cerrone in 2020. As such, many have questioned whether the former two-division champion could find himself in a title fight down the line. Michael Bisping is of the opinion that the UFC's biggest ever draw is still in a position to get a title shot after just one victory upon his return.
In a recent Q&A on his YouTube channel, Bisping responded to a fan who opined that McGregor would likely have to beat Poirier before getting a championship opportunity. 'The Count' retorted:
"Conor's still the biggest star in the sport. And with one win, you can bet your bottom dollar that he is gonna fight for the title... And the reality is, if you own the organization and you had a guy like Conor McGregor that could bring in millions of pay-per-view buys, you'd probably do the same thing. I don't agree with it but that's just the way the world works."
