Henry Cejudo hopes to "dismantle" Aljamain Sterling's flawed championship run
Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling are projected to face one another for the UFC bantamweight title in 2023.
Nothing has been officially released by the UFC as yet, but 'Triple C' and Sterling have exchanged insults online for several months, insinuating that a matchup between them is inevitable. Dana White also stated that Cejudo would most likely be Sterling's next opponent at the UFC 280 post-fight press conference following the bantamweight champion's win over T.J. Dillashaw.
'Triple C' appears confident that he will defeat Sterling following comments he made during a recent interview with MMA journalist Helen Yee. Cejudo also claimed that he didn't anticipate 'Funk Master' retaining the UFC belt for as long as he has:
"I always thought Aljamain was probably like a gatekeeper, but he happens to be champion now. There's something good that he's doing, there's a lot of good things he's probably doing that people are not recognizing and realizing. And I'm here to dismantle that, you know. I think there's a lot of flaws in his game."

Henry Cejudo once held the strap that is now in Aljamain Sterling's possession. However, 'Triple C' relinquished the title in 2020 following his retirement from the sport.
He was both a UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion at one time and appeared confident that he could reclaim his 135-pound crown against 'Funk Master' in the near future.
Henry Cejudo predicts he will stop Aljamain Sterling inside 3 rounds
Henry Cejudo and current UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling appear to be in talks to fight in 2023. 'Triple C' will resurface from his two-year retirement to compete for the most sought-after prize in MMA, the UFC title.
Cejudo has beaten several current and former world champions in his career, namely Dominick Cruz, T.J. Dillashaw, and Demetrious Johnson. 'Triple C' has predicted that he will add a fourth name to that list, provided he faces Sterling in the octagon.
Whilst providing reasons why the fight has not yet materialized, Henry Cejudo stated that he would defeat 'Funk Master' within three rounds:
"The chump Aljamain Sterling, going to Jamaica for a month. Out there chasing girls, getting fat... Him talking about going up to 145 pounds. It let's you know where his attitude is going. When I see or smell something like that, I know I'm finishing him. I know he ain't going past 3 rounds."
