Henry Cejudo and Jon Jones discuss the Top 5 MMA GOATs
Jon Jones is set to make his long-awaited heavyweight debut at UFC 285. Henry Cejudo, who is also targeting a return this year after vacating his title in 2020, recently shared footage of himself training with the long-time light heavyweight champion wherein they discussed the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
Cejudo praised Jones, claiming that him, Demetrious Johnson, and Georges St-Pierre are the fighters that others emulate. Jones mentioned Anderson Silva, prompting the former double champion to retort:
"He's got no wrestling. This is why I exit him out. As good as he is, I just can't, but he is part of GOAT mountain. He's a part of GOAT mountain with you, but to say he's all full on MMA [shakes head] because he has no wrestling and no wrestling defense. To me, in my eyes, pfft."
Jones then asked Cejudo if he places himself above or below Johnson, who he faced twice for the UFC flyweight title. 'Triple C' answered:
"Below. I put myself fifth. You, Demetrious Johnson, Anderson Silva, GSP, and then myself, and the only reason why I put myself five is two belts, and I beat three Hall of Famers to go with it. I think two belts carries a lot of weight."

Jon Jones discusses decision to train with Henry Cejudo
Jon Jones is training with Henry Cejudo as he prepares to face Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight championship at UFC 285 in March. Jones is coming off a three-year hiatus, wherein he has been bulking up in preparation for his heavyweight debut.
Jones recently discussed his decision to train with Cejudo, saying:
"I started training with Henry over a year ago... Henry is just so intelligent. He’s such a great leader and tactician, and it’s just been great... Henry is just super passionate about MMA. It’s the details, you know, angles, and it’s really just the details... I’d love to have Henry coaching me for this Ciryl Gane fight. Hopefully our schedules can align and we can get on the same page, and he could be one of my corners."
Jon Jones' last octagon appearance was against Dominick Reyes in 2020, when he defended his light heavyweight title. He subsequently vacated his 205-pound strap. 'Bones' will be looking to cement his legacy as the greatest fighter of all time as he pursues champ-champ status.
