Henry Cejudo reacts to Joe Rogan's "worst" take on why pro kickboxing is more competitive than amateur wrestling
Henry Cejudo had a hilarious reaction to Joe Rogan's comparison between pro kickboxing and Olympic wrestling.
Rogan recently had Sean O'Malley on as a guest on his popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast. During their conversation, the UFC commentator insinuated that Alex Pereira's pro kickboxing experience was more impressive than Cejudo's Olympic wrestling background.
In a video uploaded to Cejudo's YouTube channel, the former two-division UFC champion watched the clip with former opponent-turned-training partner Demetrious Johnson:
"Dude that's crazy!" Cejudo said after laughing hysterically. "So what do I got to do, I gotta do WWE to be a pro wrestler? I that what it is?"
Johnson chimed in by claiming the only difference between amateurs from professionals is the pay they receive. With that in mind, Johnson added that Olympic wrestling is as competitive, if not more, than other professional combat sports.
Then again, it appears that Cejudo took no serious offense to Rogan's comments. 'Triple C' continued:
"Joe Rogan, I love you and I hope you invite me on your show. I ain't trying to sh*t on you, but yeah that was probably about the worst thing I heard from you because amateur wrestling is like amateur boxing. ... It's so much harder to win a world title because you're in a 32-man bracket, a 16-man tournament and you have to win it every four years."

Joe Rogan's comments on Alex Pereira and Henry Cejudo
Joe Rogan is certainly leading the charge of the Alex Pereira hype train. The veteran commentator even made the case that the newly-minted UFC middleweight champion may have surpassed former two-division UFC champion and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo as the greatest combat sports athlete in history:
“Yeah, he [Henry Cejudo] won the gold medal in the Olympics. However, [Alex] Pereira, when he was fighting in GLORY [Kickboxing] – he’s fighting elite professionals, you know, where Henry is wrestling amateurs."

However, Rogan also noted that Pereira hasn't been tested in the octagon against elite grapplers, The podcaster and comedian added that he would like to see the Brazilian fight the likes of Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori to see how he would fare against the best middleweight grapplers in the UFC.
