Here's how much Mike Perry has bet on Paulo Costa after Sean Strickland's incensed comments about "trash" BKFC

Sean Strickland is no fan of BKFC and his criticism of the promotion has seemingly drawn the ire of Mike Perry. 'Platinum' responded to the former UFC middleweight champion's jabs by placing a sizable bet on the latter's UFC 302 opponent, Paulo Costa.

Strickland criticized BKFC's fighting style and pay structure during UFC 302 media day, calling the organization "trash".

Shortly afterward, Perry took to Instagram to share the ins and outs of his bet.

He is wagering $50,000 on a Costa victory, with a potential return of $140,000 if his prediction comes to pass. This is in light of Strickland speaking ill of BKFC, as he often does with anything and everything. The criticism came as a shock to some, given Strickland's proclaimed love of fighting.

However, the former 185-pound titleholder feels that the numbers BKFC often touts do not accurately represent the promotion's profitability or how much it pays its fighters. While top bare-knuckle boxers earn more than enough, Strickland takes issue with how much the majority of BKFC's roster makes.

Given the gruesome facial injuries and broken bones they sustained from not wearing gloves, Strickland feels that BKFC is massively underpaying the bulk of its roster. He said:

"Bare knuckle, you want to talk about f***ing crooks. They’re paying their guys shit... If you look at the lowest rung of the guys, they’re breaking their hands, breaking their orbitals, and they’re making a couple thousand bucks. Bare knuckle’s f***ing trash." [H/t MMA Fighting]

Naturally, Perry feels differently, having made BKFC his home, where he is currently enjoying an unprecedented level of success.

For Strickland's sake, he will hope that Perry's bet on Costa is indicative of nothing. 'Tarzan' is aiming to recapture his middleweight title, but he must first get past his UFC 302 opponent to work his way back into title contention, as a loss would derail his championship plans massively.

This isn't the first time that Sean Strickland has spoken out against BKFC

Sean Strickland has some choice words for BKFC back in early 2023. In response to the promotion signing a declining fighter like Diego Sanchez, 'Tarzan' took to X to share his thoughts, lambasting the BKFC X account admin.

"You sing old fighters who should retire and call it a fight. Your organization is a clown show... and you know if this conversation was in person you wouldn't make eye contact with me. Lmao welcome to the internet tough guy..."

It appears that there is still no love lost between Strickland and BKFC, with the 185-pounder continuing to take aim at the promotion whenever he can.
