“His power and speed is not like it is now” - Seksan praises youngster Nico Carrillo for making strides since 2022 encounter
Muay Thai legend Seksan Or Kwanmuang is impressed with the improvements Nico Carrillo has made since their 2022 encounter in The Emerald Isle.
Through four appearances under the ONE Championship banner, 'The King of the North' has been perfect, finishing all of his opponents in highlight-reel fashion and establishing himself as a legitimate contender in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.
A year before making his ONE Championship debut, the Scottish sensation squared off with Seksan at a Slam Warriors event in Cork City, Ireland.
Looking back on their first and only encounter thus far, 'The Man Who Yields To No One' admitted to being truly impressed with the strides Carrillo has made since then.
"I think we fought in Ireland, that was many years ago," Seksan told the South China Morning Post. "And that time I think his power and speed is not like it is now."
With finishes against Furkan Karabag, Muangthai, Nong-O Hama, and Saemapetch Fairtex, Nico Carrillo appears to be next in line for a shot at ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty—once 'The General' takes care of some business with Superlek on September 6.
Seksan meets Liam Harrison in a battle of Muay Thai legends at ONE 168: Denver

Emanating from Ball Arena in The Mile High City, ONE 168: Denver will feature a loaded fight card headlined by a championship battle between Jonathan Haggerty and 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek.
But first, fans will see Liam Harrison make his return following a two-year-long layoff to rehab a knee injury he suffered in his one-world title clash with Nong-O at ONE on Prime Video 1. Ready to make one more run before hanging up his gloves for good. 'Hitman' is ready to add another Thai legend to his list when he meets Seksan on martial arts' biggest global stage.
