Hollywood star believes Jake Paul fighting Jon Jones would be a "lopsided" affair

Jon Jones is arguably one of the greatest athletes to step foot inside the UFC octagon. While discussing a hypothetical showdown between the two-time UFC light heavyweight champion and undefeated boxer Jake Paul, Hollywood star and martial arts savant Michael Jai White predicted that the fight would be a lopsided affair.

YouTuber-turned-pugilist Jake Paul has made a career out of competing with retired UFC stars inside the squared circle. 'The Problem Child' has been able to carve out a niche for himself in the boxing space and he expects to someday face the sport's top names, such as Canelo Alvarez.

Jake Paul's disagreements with the UFC's upper management stem from issues with fighter compensation and benefits. Dana White and several other MMA athletes have issued an open challenge to 'The Problem Child' to square off against an experienced boxer or an opponent of a similar age.

Michael Jai White speculated in a recent interview with Vladimir Lyubovny of Vlad TV on how a fight between Jon Jones and Paul would unfold. He said:

"Oh no! He [Paul] shouldn't either [accept a fight with Jones]. Jon is a whole different species. That will be lopsided."

In the wake of Paul's first-round knockout of Ben Askren in April 2021, Jones was effusive in his support for the former Disney star, saying that he was "happy for" Paul's financial achievements. He quickly deleted the tweet thereafter.

Michael Jai White is confident that Jon Jones will "run through" the heavyweight division

Jon Jones is itching to make his heavyweight debut. The youngest UFC champion in history has targeted fights against former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and reigning champion Francis Ngannou but to no avail.

Fans of 'Bones' are optimistic that the UFC superstar will return to competition in 2023 after a three-year absence. There are rumors that Jones has negotiated a new contract with the UFC and that the promotion has begun working on a fight between Jones and Ngannou for UFC 285 on March 4.

Speaking about how Jon Jones would fare against the big boys of the heavyweight division during the same interview with Vlad TV, Michael Jai White said:

"I think he'll run through that division pretty easily. I mean, his wrestling skillset, I don't know if there's many people in the heavyweight ranks that could match that. Even if he walks around like me, like say 235 [lbs], that's already heavyweight. He doesn't have to cut weight, he should be pretty damn healthy by then. If he wraps somebody up, they got problems."
