How much will Dana White-backed boxer Callum Walsh earn against Przemyslaw Runowski? Estimating fight purse based on previous payouts

UFC CEO Dana White has ardently supported Ireland's Callum Walsh who's viewed as one of the fastest rising stars in the sport of professional boxing. Walsh's recent paydays have reportedly been much higher compared to other boxers of his age and level of experience.

Presently, Walsh (11-0, 9 KOs) holds the WBC Continental Americas super welterweight championship. The Irishman is booked to defend it against veteran Polish pugilist, 30-year-old Przemyslaw Runowski (22 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw; 6 KOs).

The Walsh-Runowski fight will headline a boxing card at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. Backed by White himself, the event will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.

Callum Walsh is viewed by many as a future world champion. As reported by NY Fights, Walsh was estimated to have bagged a $150k guaranteed purse for his fight against Dauren Yeleussinov whom he defeated via ninth-round TKO in March 2024.

For his most recent fight, which ended in a second-round KO victory against Carlos Ortiz Cervantes in June 2024, Walsh was expected to secure a $350k payout at the very least.

Moreover, per Sporty Salaries, Walsh was expected to take home a $200k guaranteed payout against Carlos Ortiz Cervantes. Another element of importance is that the backstage bonuses, perks, etc. a fighter receives generally make their cumulative pay for a given matchup much higher than the reported/estimated purses.

Considering the variables at play, it appears as though Walsh would likely secure another major payday for his upcoming fight against Przemyslaw Runowski. Since Walsh is a much bigger name than his veteran foe, the Irishman will probably bag the bigger split from the overall fight purse.

Walsh could receive a six-figure guaranteed payout, potentially even higher than what he earned against Carlos Ortiz Cervantes, as he boasts massive momentum from that dominant knockout victory and his star continues to grow.

He recalled meeting the youngster "a couple of years ago," and waxed lyrical about the Irish fighter training with legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach. Incidentally, White met Walsh courtesy of Roach and Walsh's promoter Tom Loeffler (of '360 Promotions').

The UFC boss recently invited Irish combat sports megastar, former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor, to join him ringside and watch the 23-year-old in action on Sept. 20. Furthermore, underscoring the importance of 'King's clash against Przemyslaw Runowski, White said:
