How is social star Bob Menery involved with Colby Covington vs. Jorge Masvidal street brawl? NELK Boys accused Menery of setting up 'Chaos'
In March 2022, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington were involved in a physical altercation outside a Miami restaurant following their grudge match at UFC 272. Covington allegedly sustained a broken tooth following Masvidal's assault.
Masvidal was charged with aggravated violence and criminal mischief in connection with the attack on Miami Beach on March 21. Two days later, on March 23, Miami Beach police arrested and booked the UFC welterweight fighter. 'Gamebred' was subsequently handed a stay-away order by the court after he pled not guilty to a single count of aggravated violence causing serious bodily injury and criminal mischief.
Colby Covington was at the Papi Steak restaurant celebrating his victory over Masvidal with Bob Menery. Menery is well-known in the influencer space for his partnership with the Nelk Boys to create the Full Send Podcast. Menery taped a podcast episode with Covington and later posted a picture of 'Chaos' at the restaurant, which may have revealed his whereabouts to Masvidal.
Following the incident, Kyle Forgeard, one of the Nelk Boys, claimed in one of his videos that Bob Menery set Covington up for the altercation he had with Masvidal. Forgeard also claimed to have seen Menery texting Masvidal while they were celebrating with Covington. In a video that has since been removed from YouTube, Forgeard said:
"Just a little disclaimer for all the UFC fans... I know you guys saw what happened with the whole restuarant thing with Colby and Masvidal. Bob Menery actually set Colby up. So I did see him texting Masvidal while we were at dinner with Colby. So now that I think about it something isn't really adding up. I don't know, I think Bob set him up."
Colby Covington has been away from the sport ever since the infamous incident transpired. 'Chaos' recently made his comeback as a backup fighter for the main event bout between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman at UFC 286, and he has been spewing venom and talking trash ever since.
Speaking about Menery's alleged involvement in the lead-up to the unfortunate incident at the UFC 286 media scrum, Covington stated:
"I don’t know what to believe with that guy [Bob Menery], I think he set me up…I think he’s a fake guy."

After hearing Covington's accusations, Menery responded in the comments section, saying that he was being defamed despite having defended his stance previously. He wrote:
"Anything for clicks. I already addressed this. Hopefully kyle and nelk boys one day realize how much this joke f**ked my shit up. Really disgusting act by them. Sad to see and absolute bulls**t."

Colby Covington lambasts Khamzat Chimaev for missing weight at UFC 279
Khamzat Chimaev was originally scheduled to face Nate Diaz at UFC 279 in September last year. However, the fight was canceled the day before because 'Borz' failed to make weight. Borz was dropped from the main event clash after weighing 7.5 lbs pounds above the limit.
Meanwhile, during Colby Covington's absence from the sport, Chimaev has called for a fight with 'Chaos' multiple times and has accused him of avoiding a fight with 'Borz.'
In a recent interview with TheMacLife, Colby Covington indicated that Khamzat Chimaev has lost all credibility for missing weight at UFC 279:
"The guy [Khamzat Chimaev] is a quitter, he quite from the common cold, he retired when they gave him the best services in the UFC PI and the best freaking doctors and everything to make the weight against the easiest fight in the fight in the division, the soy boy, Nate Diaz and he still couldn't make weight."
