“Huge opportunity for me to show off my striking” - Jarred Brooks eager to showcase stand-up skills against Gustavo Balart

Jarred Brooks believes he's heading into a fast-paced brawl with Cuban star Gustavo Balart in a barnburner main event of ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2.

Although known for their grappling pedigree, both Brooks and Balart also have massive power in their punches, which is why the American superstar is more than eager to trade leather with his rival.

'The Monkey God' is also hyped to know that his interim title fight will take place in the iconic Lumpinee Stadium, or also known as the 'Mecca of Muay Thai', where local and international striking fans fill up the arena.

Speaking exclusively to Sportskeeda MMA recently, he said:

"Going in there, to compete there, I think it’s a huge opportunity for me to show off my striking dexterity and capability to the Thai fans, which are predominantly strikers."

Brooks also mentioned that he has yet to showcase this side of himself, and he is more than willing to keep the fight standing.

He added:

"So I’m super happy to go out there and showcase this side of my game, especially against someone like Gustavo Balart and the prowess of him."

If everything goes as planned, fans will witness a non-stop action when they lock horns inside the ring.

Gustavo Balart ready to fulfill his life-long dream

On the other side, Gustavo Balart is also prepared to fulfill his dream of fighting in a world title clash with former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks.

The Cuban star recognized that he's facing a formidable foe, but he also knows this would be the culmination of his accomplishments throughout his entire career.
