"I am more aggressive" - Gustavo Balart vows to push the pace and deliver a 'great fight' against Jarred Brooks

Third-ranked contender Gustavo Balart is confident his speed and pressure will allow him to capture the ONE interim strawweight MMA crown in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24.

The American Top Team upstart crosses paths with top-ranked contender and former kingpin Jarred Brooks inside Bangkok's legendary Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, August 2.

Before his first dance for gold, Gustavo Balart outlined his advantages over 'The Monkey God' during a recent catchup with ONE Championship:

"I think I am more aggressive during combat, and my opponent likes to go inside, step back, and move a lot. I am more static, and more aggressive. You will witness a great fight."

His high-pressure style and heart have been two factors that have made him a fan-favorite, after all.

After going down in his first three fights on the global stage of the promotion, the 37-year-old gutsy Cuban has tallied four successive victories against former divisional kings, Alex Silva and Yosuke Saruta, ranked contender Hiroba Minowa, and Ryuto Sawada.

Only time will tell whether he can go on to secure the biggest win of his MMA career, one that will earn him the interim crown and a ticket to unify his belt with current titleholder Joshua Pacio.
