“I always enjoy a crazy fight” - Johan Ghazali looking to trade bombs with Josue Cruz in packed Ball Arena at ONE 168
17-year-old Malaysian teenage rising star 'Jojo' Johan Ghazali says it will be all action, all the time when he trades leather with Mexico's 'Tuzo' Josue Cruz next weekend.
But he won't make the same mistake of trying to force it, like he did in a loss to Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat last June.
'Jojo' dropped a unanimous decision to the Vietnamese fighter, and he says he learned a lot from the experience.
Ghazali promises fans he will showcase more of the technical side of his game, which should bode well for him. However, when push comes to shove, 'Jojo' says he can never turn down a good old-fashioned scrap.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Ghazali shared his thoughts on his upcoming showdown with Cruz.
'Jojo' said:
"In the last fight, I got carried away. I always enjoy a crazy fight, you know? I stepped into the arena and I saw the fans, the 15-20,000 people who wanted to see a fight. I might have gotten a little carried away. But you know, you learn from your mistakes, so I’ll fix it."
Ghazali is one of the most exciting young prospects in the world's largest martial arts organization. And he's making his American soil debut next weekend to much fanfare.
