"I always expect to have the hardest fight" - Adrian Lee sounds off on barely breaking a sweat against Nico Cornejo
Adrian Lee has got a long career ahead of him but he's already showing clear potential in the lightweight MMA division. Considering his family name, there was always going to be a lot of interest in watching him compete in MMA.
At ONE 167, he got off to a strong start in his pro career by earning his first win and finish under the ONE Championship banner. The teenager then made the turnaround to return at ONE 168 on Sept. 6, where he took on Nico Cornejo inside Ball Arena.
In an even more impressive performance than his outing at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Lee was able to dominate Cornejo before finding his second consecutive submission win in the first round.
Despite having a lot of confidence in his skills, Lee revealed in a post-fight interview with Nick Atkin that he always prepares for war rather than expecting to run through opponents:
"I didn't expect the fight to go as smoothly as it did. I always expect to have the hardest fight in my life every time I enter the ring. And just a bonus that it went as well as it did."

Adrian Lee has still only shown fans glimpses of his game
Despite being two fights into his pro career, we still have so much to learn about Adrian Lee and his mixed martial arts game.
Both his performances inside the circle have seen him come out fast from the opening bell, looking to land strikes before timing a takedown attempt.
What he has shown is that he can successfully secure his level changes, keep control of the fight, and find the submission victory.
With two wins and two finishes under his belt, the future is bright indeed for the young prospect.
