“I can do better” - Superbon promises a very different fight in potential rematch with Tawanchai

First-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender and current ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon of Thailand may have just punched his ticket to a rematch with the division's king Tawanchai PK Saenchai.

Superbon scored a scintillating first-round knockout finish over No.2-ranked contender 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut at ONE Friday Fights 81 last weekend at Lumpinee Stadium.

The Thai star delivered a crushing elbow to Nattawut's face, separating 'Smokin' Jo from his senses early and abruptly. It was a brilliant performance against a live opponent who is due to face Tawanchai in just a little over a month.

Nattawut is scheduled for a world title rematch against the PK Saenchai Muay Thai gym representative at ONE 169: Atlanta on Nov. 8. But Superbon may have just taken his place.

Superbon told media at the ONE Friday Fights 81 post-event interviews:

"Last time, I think I wasn't a hundred percent before the fight. But I cannot say that. So next time I will be a hundred percent. Then for my technique, it will be different. If you saw that fight, I think my technique, everything there I can do better, but my energy was not enough. So because my energy was not enough, I lost that fight. Against Jo, I think my technique, everything there, I looked better in that fight."

Superbon fought Tawanchai in December 2023, losing via five-round majority decision in a close fight. Since then, Superbon has expressed his desire to earn a rematch and eventually take the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title.

Superbon looks to unify the gold with Chingiz Allazov: "I can wait"

Superbon has no problem giving Chingiz Allazov all the time he needs to decide if he wants to come back to the ring or just simply retire. But if it were up to him, Superbon would be unifying the featherweight gold with the Azerbaijani star pronto.

Superbon last to Allazov via knockout in January 2023, and since then, he has been trying to lure his tormentor back into a rematch.

He told Nick Atkin:

"Yes, of course. I love to fight, man. I love to fight. I can fight anyone. I can fight any program. I can fight World Grand Prix. I can fight for the title. And I can wait for Chingiz Allazov."
