“I have a chance!” - Jarred Brooks confident he has the tools to beat Demetrious Johnson

Former ONE strawweight MMA world champion and current number-one contender 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks of the United States has been clamoring for a showdown with MMA legend and current ONE flyweight MMA world champion 'Mighty Mouse' Demetrious Johnson.

However, many feel he will be in way over his head if he takes on such an icon in the sport, and who many feel is the best MMA fighter in history.

To that end, Brooks has a message for his doubters.

"Do I think I stand a chance against Demetrious Johnson? Heck yeah, I have a chance! I’m a walking, breathing, and living creature on earth. So I have a chance."

Former strawweight MMA king 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks has been hard at work, preparing for his interim world title showdown with 'El Gladiador' Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24.

And the 31-year-old Mash Fight Team representative can't wait to show fans his much-improved skill set.

'The Monkey God' told Sportskeeda MMA:

"I want to gain the interim gold and I’m ready to put it on the line against anyone before Joshua Pacio comes back. I’ve pushed myself across my boundaries, I pushed myself into the pits and the most uncomfortable positions, so this is why I said I’ll bring a different version of ‘The Monkey God’ here."
