“I'd be very prepared” - Jonathan Haggerty promises to beat Fabricio Andrade if he’s allowed transition to MMA
Jonathan Haggerty still has a tough task to complete this weekend, but he also has a plan on his own for the future.
Slated to defend his bantamweight Muay Thai world title against ONE flyweight kickboxing ruler Superlek Kiatmoo9, Haggerty knows he needs to be fully focused on his foe before he makes another move in the near future.
But, the thoughts of having his way and jumping into the mixed martial arts world is still very much alive in his head, as he shared in a recent interview with InsideFighting.
The double-champ is busy ruling two divisions right now, and a third division will keep his hands extremely full.
Nonetheless, he's gunning for another tough rival in mind: ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade.
Haggerty said:
"If I had it my way, I'll jump the ladders and fight Andrade straight away. But we don't know, we'd just have to wait and see. But I'd be very prepared if I fought Andrade in MMA."
Whatever lies in the future, we would see a barnburner clash between Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek in the main event of ONE 168: Denver this Friday, Sept. 6.

Two-sport ONE world champion Jonathan Haggerty has placed enormous efforts to stay on top of the bantamweight division, and he wants to prove something else.
Facing Superlek Kiatmoo9, who beat him via a TKO in 2018, Haggerty wants to prove that he's got what it takes by undergoing a long preparation in Denver for a month.
'The General' spoke about what he's going to do in the ONE 168 press conference earlier this week:
"I believe he's ready. I don't think he's underestimated me, it would be silly to. But as long as I'm ready, that's all that matters. And I'm here to put on a masterclass and showcase some great Muay Thai."
