"I have the documentation to prove it" - Conor McGregor flexes UFC feat, makes bold claim about end of contract
Conor McGregor, the biggest superstar of the UFC, has been out of action for the past three years. His fight against rival Michael Chandler was scheduled for UFC 303, but just weeks before the clash, the Irish fighter injured his toe and had to withdraw from the fight.
However, 'The Notorious' is focused on making his comeback in 2025. He has just two fights left on his UFC contract and is planning to make a big return, aiming to generate huge pay-per-view numbers and own the top 10 selling pay-per-view fights list. He has already headlined eight fights in the top 10. The former two-division champion took to X to share this.
“7 out of 10 highest ppv’s, NO! I have 8 of the highest! I outsold UFC 100! I have the documentation to prove it. By end of my contract I will hold the entire top 10.”

In the top 10 list, there are only two fights that McGregor did not headline. One is Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal, and the other is Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir, according to Givemesport.com.
The top spot is secured by one of the greatest rivalries in UFC history, Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor, which sold 2.4 million PPV buys at UFC 229 and generated $180 million for the UFC.
Dan Hooker opens up on potential Conor McGregor fight
During his appearance at the BKFC Spain event, Conor McGregor reportedly met with Dan Hooker and announced that he is willing to fight the ‘Hangman’.
In a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, when Hooker was asked about the potential fight with 'The Notorious,' he said he is willing to take the fight but only in January or March, and he will not wait around like Michael Chandler did. Hooker said:
“It's a fight that makes a lot of sense for him and makes a lot of sense for me and we're, obviously, both keen on the fight. I don't know what's going on with him behind the scenes. I don't know what's going on with him and the UFC and their relationship, so that's all I can say.
"Since that rumor started going around, people are like, 'Don't wait, don't be another Michael Chandler.' That's not the plan. I'm fighting early next year.”
Hooker continued:
“I told the UFC either January or March and it will be someone in the top five or Conor McGregor. That will be who I'll be stepping inside the cage with come January or March next year.”
