“I don’t party” - Nico Carrillo likes to drink beer and eat chocolate to celebrate victory
First-ranked ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger 'King of the North' Nico Carrillo of the United Kingdom is one of the most ripped athletes in the game, and it takes insane work ethic to achieve a sixpack like the one he has. But even the Scottish sensation says he indulges in a cheat meal every now and then.
Following Carrillo's most recent victory over no.4-ranked contender Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 23 on Prime Video last week, 'King of the North' planned on giving in to his cravings.
Speaking to South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Carrillo revealed the top two items on his ideal cheat meal checklist.
'King of the North' said:
"Chocolate. Can I have some chocolate right now? Probably chocolate. But I do like a beer. As I got older my tastebuds have gotten used to Italian beer. I like that when I go out with my fiance but I don’t party. I just have one after meals and I’m good. I have a Spanish background that’s why I like beer."
Carrillo scored a second-round technical knockout over Saemapetch at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, sending the hometown favorite to the canvas three times to force the referee to call a halt to the contest.
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch a replay of ONE Fight Night 23 absolutely free and on-demand via Amazon Prime Video.
Nico Carrillo willing to fly out to Denver to challenge Jonathan Haggerty - Superlek winner
Two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty is set to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against flyweight kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver, which broadcasts live from the Ball Arena on Friday, Sept. 6.
'King of the North' told South China Morning Post he wants to be front row for this one, and call out the winner.
He said:
"Listen, if the big boss man wants to pay for my flight to Denver, Colorado, and get me front-row seats, I would be absolutely happy to do that. Chatri, if you want me to be there sir, I’ll be in there for sure."
