“I don’t really have a plan” - Thant Zin says he’ll go with the flow to beat Takeru to the punch at ONE Friday Fights 81

Thant Zin plans to wing it when he steps onto martial arts' biggest global stage this Friday.

After earning back-to-back knockouts against Jaising Sitnayokpansak and Tai Sor Jor Piek Uthai in his first two promotional appearances, the 19-year-old Myanmar native will face his toughest test yet when he meets former three-division K-1 champion Takeru Segawa.

The two warriors will square off in a flyweight kickboxing clash when ONE Championship heads back to the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand for ONE Friday Fights 81, airing live on pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.

Addressing members of the media ahead of their highly anticipated clash, Thant Zin revealed that he's not going into the bout with any type of pre-established game plan. Instead, he's just gonna listen to his corner and hope for the best:

"Actually, I don't really have a plan to counter Takeru. But I will do everything I can on the stage, and I will follow everything my brother tells me to do."

To steal a line from one of the greatest comedy films of all time, "It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em."

Takeru Targets First ONE Win At The Expense Of Thant Zin

While Thant Zin seeks his third-straight win in ONE Championship, 'The Natural Born Crusher' will be looking to see his hand raised for the first time since signing with the promotion last year.

Takeru made his debut at ONE 165 in Tokyo this past January. While he delivered a dynamite showing against current two-sport king Superlek Kiatmoo9, Takeru ultimately came up short, suffering a unanimous decision loss against 'The Kicking Machine'.

Will the Japanese kickboxing legend snatch his first win inside the 'Mecca of Muay Thai', or will Thant Zin continue his climb up the rankings and add another big win to his resume?

ONE Friday Fights 81 will air live and exclusively on pay-per-view on Friday, Sept. 27 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. You can purchase the event exclusively on the official ONE Championship website.
