"I felt like I was in Scotland" - Nico Carrillo surprised that Thai fans gave him so much love versus Saemapetch

Nico Carrillo put on a show-stealing performance in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 23 this past weekend. The Scotsman was able to maintain his perfect winning and finishing streak in the promotion with his fourth consecutive victory and stoppage.

After getting Saemapetch Fairtex out of there in the second round inside Lumpinee Stadium, he re-cemented his place as the top contender in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.

Carrillo's performance was certainly that of a star but that quality was clear from the moment that he made the walk to the ring.

With Braveheart playing, he received an incredible reaction on July 5 and he made sure to thank the fans for this moment.

Carrillo knew that there was going to be a lot of his fellow Scots in attendance this past weekend but what he didn't expect was that the Thai fans would also get behind him before the opening bell:

"That was the best reception I've ever had. Walking out there, I actually felt like I was in Scotland. And so I know there was a lot of Scottish people there, but even the Thai fans showed me so much love, and I am so appreciative of that."

Nico Carrillo is undeniable in several ways

Nico Carrillo said ahead of ONE Fight Night 23 that he wanted to prove himself to be undeniable and he certainly did that with his performance. This most recent outing also showed that he is a star already in the reactions he receives and the performances that he puts on.

All of Carrillo's wins under the ONE Championship banner have been impressive but this one took it to new heights. The Scotsman is an elite competitor and as a result, it looks like his fanbase is only continuing to grow with each appearance that he makes.
