“I found my rhythm” - Jonathan Haggerty looks back on the fight that changed his course in ONE

Jonathan Haggerty knows what it takes to get to the top. The UK superstar was pushed to his limit and lost his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title at the hands of Rodtang Jitmuangnon, just after claiming the belt in his second fight with the world's largest martial arts organization.

Haggerty was immediately set for a rematch with the Thai fighter, but little did he know it was going to be another brutal loss.

At that point, the 27-year-old had to return to the drawing board and figure out what works for him, even if it means changing his course.

He opened up to all of these facts in a recent video, where he said it helped him find the best rhythm and style for his game plan:

"I started changing my styles here, going into southpaw to orthodox to get a little bit more distance. And that's where I thought, sort of found my rhythm, at that style throughout the whole of ONE Championship now in my career. So I learned a lot from this fight. I love what sort of style suits me best."

Jonathan Haggerty's struggle to overcome adversity

Jonathan Haggerty knew he was in a tough spot after losing twice at the hands of Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Although he gave his best on both occasions, Haggerty had to go back and change his course, eventually leading him to move up to the bantamweight division - something that has seen him achieve a great deal of success.

Currently, the two-sport kingpin will defend his Muay Thai belt against the last man who defeated Rodtang, Superlek Kiatmoo9, at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6.
