"I have to hit hard" - Danny Kingad confident he can outstrike Adriano Moraes at ONE 169: Atlanta
Danny Kingad is confident he'll steal the show at ONE 169: Atlanta by outstriking former ONE world champion Adriano Moraes.
The Filipino slugger has worked very hard over the last few years to get himself strong enough to rematch his former rival on the grand stage. With the flyweight division in need of a new champion since Demetrious Johnson's retirement, Danny Kingad intends to capitalize on an opportunity that has world title implications.
Speaking to The MMA Superfan this week, 'The King' explained how busy he's been keeping since news of his fight with Moraes broke.
"With the fight still in November, I'm still in my strengthening part. I'm improving my power, my strength and conditioning right now. At the same time, I'm also working on my striking, packing up power in my strikes. I have to hit hard, especially facing a grappler."

Danny Kingad has always been a dangerous contender to the throne. He is a dangerous striker with some crazy attacks. The main weapon to watch out for is Kingad's right hook. When it lands, it's devastating.
Another signature move that comes to mind is the sidekick to the knee - a vicious technique that has fundamentally kept his rivals at bay while pressing forward.
But at the end of the day, if Danny Kingad doesn't match Adriano Moraes in intensity and skill, it may be another early night for him again.

Danny Kingad admits to seeing major improvements to his fighting style
Suffering a knockout at the hands of Adriano Moraes is an experience Danny Kingad will never forget.
The Filipino rising star had high hopes of becoming the next ONE flyweight MMA world champion when he challenged Adriano Moraes in November 2017. However, Moraes stopped those plans, quickly submitting his Filipino rival in the opening round.
Looking back at his first match with the Brazilian superstar, the Lions Nation MMA representative says he has come to terms with his loss. The experience was certainly eye-opening, but it also motivated him to be a more well-rounded martial artist.
In a previous interview, Kingad was quoted saying:
"I feel like I've improved a lot from that fight. Aside from being younger in that first match, we have also improved in terms of how we prepare."
