"I hope he is well prepared" - Amir Aliakbari wants to face the very best version of 'Buchecha' at ONE 169
Amir Aliakbari says he wants to face the very best version of Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida when they collide at ONE 169 this Friday.
The Iranian power-hitter is truly on the rise to becoming the next world title challenger, if he finds a way to outwit the 17-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion in decisive fashion.
With two knockouts and two stoppages in his last four matches, Aliakbari believes he is more than primed to deliver another tremendous performance in Thailand. He just hopes that 'Buchecha' is also on the same page.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Alikabari said:
"I hope he is well prepared for the fight".
In his last appearance, 'Buchecha' went down to 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane on the judges scorecards. On the flip side, Aliakbari saw action earlier this year when he traded leather against former divisional king Arjan Bhullar at ONE 166: Qatar.
Though the Brazilian enters this fight off a defeat, if there's anything we learned from the former BJJ world champion is that, he is more dangerous than what Aliakbari gives him credit for.
Amir Alikbari thanks his Porrada teammates for exercising such an excellent training camp for ONE 169
Amir Aliakbari is blessed to have a strong team of coaches and partners that help him refine his all-around skillsets.
It's going to be a difficult endeavour indeed for Marcus Buchecha to defeat Aliakbari, when his training camp for ONE 169, has been as taxing and brutal as ever. From working on his wrestling to perfecting his striking - the Iranian star has covered all his bases.
This week, he thanked his team, AAA, and Porrada Gym on his Instagram page with the caption:
"Thank you to all the team members and Porrada gym."
