"I have a Jedi mind trick" - Jarred Brooks reveals how he manages to dictate the pace of his fights
Jarred Brooks knows that dictating the pace of his next fight will be crucial to getting his hand raised.
Using his cardio and ability to fight at multiple ranges have been two of Brooks' biggest weapons during his time in the strawweight MMA division.
Both of these elements of his game are sure to be on full display in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2.
He is set to face Gustavo Balart with the ONE interim strawweight MMA world championship on the line in a tough test for the former champ.
Given Balart's unique style and attributes, he expects his opponent to come out of the blocks fast at Lumpinee Stadium.
Fortunately, Brooks has a few tricks up his sleeve when it comes to being in control of a fight.
He told ONE Championship in a recent interview that he uses several factors to manipulate his opponents:
"I have like a Jedi mind trick when I face other fighters. I make them calm down with my body language and how fast I might come at them. Aggression meets aggression."
Gustavo Balart won't be easy for Jarred Brooks to control
It's not going to be an easy task for Jarred Brooks to control Gustavo Balart with his "Jedi mind tricks".
Balart is a fierce competitor with a legitimate Cuban wrestling background which means he will not back down from a challenge or some adversity.
With his power and takedown defense, should Brooks try to take the fight to the mat, dictating the pace is crucial for 'The Monkey God'.
He can't afford to let his opponent bully him inside the Circle but the former champion is sure to have a few plans in place already for how he will get his hand raised on fight night.
ONE Fight Night 24 will air live in US Primetime, free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
