“I just got to work” - Eddie Abasolo says he always knew he was about to cross paths with Mohamed Younes Rabah
American striker Eddie Abasolo said he is not at all surprised to be pitted against Mohamed Younes Rabah of Algeria in his next fight. He believes that being among the noted fighters in the ONE featherweight Muay Thai class, their paths were bound to cross.
'Silky Smooth' will take on 'The Eagle' in a featured featherweight Muay Thai clash at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Nov. 8. It is part of the stacked event happening at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and airing live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
In an interview with Cageside Press, which was uploaded on YouTube on Oct. 28, Eddie Abasolo shared that he has been eyeing Rabah for some time now after being called out by him.
The Vallejo, California native said:
"I was not surprised because before I got the call, he called me out in an interview that I've seen a clip of on Instagram. And I was like, 'You know, I gotta pay more attention to this guy,' and I just got to work."

At ONE 169, Eddie Abasolo is out to get a much-needed victory after hitting a rough patch of late. He is confident of achieving just that after a camp which he said prepared him well.
Also in the same boat is Rabah, who was dealt his first lost in ONE in February by Thai Saemapetch Fairtex in their rematch.

Filipino-American fighter Eddie Abasolo seeks to get a big win over Mohamed Younes Rabah at ONE 169 on Nov. 8 with the end view of barging into the top-five contenders in the featherweight Muay Thai division.
He made his intentions known in the same interview with Cageside Press, highlighting how he has been around the division and looking to pick things up further.
Abasolo said:
"In ONE, of cousre, I want anyone in the top five. I'm not in the top five, but I've fought Sittichai, he's in the top five. I think Luke [Lessei] is number five. Sitthicai was actually number two. [Niclas] Larsen, he was number four or number five when I beat him."
The ONE featherweight Muay Thai lane is currently ruled by Thai superstar Tawanchai PK Saenchai.
