“I just know he’s so proud” - Alyse Anderson says a victory at ONE 168 will bring her father "so much joy"
American MMA fighter Alyse Anderson returns to ONE Championship action this week. She is out to get a victory to swing back to the win column and honor her martial artist father, who is currently battling cancer.
'Lil Savage' is featured in an atomweight MMA match against Brazil's Victoria Souza at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A.. It is part of the event happening at the Ball Arena in airing live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Alyse Anderson talked about her return to action, including her motivations come fight night. The 29-year-old Michigan native said:
"I think that if I win this fight it would bring my dad so much joy and happiness because all he wants is to see me happy. With him being a martial artist, I just know he's so proud, and I want to honor him in every way."
Alyse Anderson was last in action in ONE Championship's first-ever live on-ground event in the United States, also in Colorado, in May last year. She battled Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex in an atomweight MMA showdown but lost by knockout in the second round.
Waiting for Anderson at ONE 168 is Souza, 27, who is out to make it back-to-back victories after chalking up an impressive submission win in her last fight in June over Japan's Itsuki Hirata.

Alyse Anderson ready to give fight fans a good show at ONE 168
Apart from dedicating her next fight to her ailing father, Alyse Anderson is also out to put on a show at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 to showcase that she still has it in her to compete at a high level.
The MMA Masters affiliate shared this in an Instagram post ahead of her scheduled return to ONE Championship action in Denver. She shared highlights of her training and submission victory over Asha Roka of India, captioning it:
"Next Friday I'm going to put on a show at #one168 at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado!"
