Kongthoranee Sor Sommai will be facing the toughest opponent in his career, the ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9, at ONE Friday Fights 68.
However, this doesn't mean he is losing his confidence ahead of this crucial bout, as he thinks that his skills should not be written off as well.
Starting off at the young age of seven, Kongthoranee fell in love with the traditional Thai martial arts, and he rocketed to superstar status with various accolades in his name.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post, Kongthoranee shared the reason why he started out as a Nak Muay when he was a kid.
He said:
"I started Muay Thai since I was seven years old. I like the art of Muay Thai, and also it's something that I can make money of my own. I did not have to get the money from my parents. I did not have to ask. I can generate my own income. So that's why I started Muay Thai."
