“I like to be humble” - Danielle Kelly won’t underestimate dangerous Mayssa Bastos ahead of ONE Fight Night 24

Reigning and undisputed ONE women's atomweight submission grappling world champion Danielle Kelly of the United States is confident in her abilities, but understands that every fight from here on out is against only the toughest fighters.

Kelly is confident she can beat decorated Brazilian competitor Mayssa Bastos this Friday, but she isn't going out telling everyone she will dominate her next challenger.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Kelly said she is taking great care in her approach against Bastos.

The 28-year-old star said:

"I like to be humble. I don't like to kind of, like, say, ‘Oh, I'm gonna do this or that.’ I mean, we're also 115 pounders, so it's gonna be hard to break each other. But, realistically, that's what I wanna do."

Bastos is one of the most accomplished female Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitors today, and is a five-time world champion. She is easily the most accomplished opponent Kelly will have faced thus far in ONE Championship.

Many feel that Kelly is heading into this match the underdog, despite having the atomweight gold on her shoulder.
