"I'll be back to my usual training" - Denice Zamboanga gives a timeline on her recovery from hamstring injury
2024 has been a year of many ups and downs for Denice Zamboanga, but she's staying positive as always.
The atomweight MMA contender was seemingly set for some of the biggest fights of her career, but for one reason or another, they have not happened. She was set to headline a massive card at the Impact Arena for ONE 167 in a huge atomweight title fight against her former training partner, Stamp Fairtex.
With the champion out injured, Zamboanga instead faced Noelle Grandjean in a fight that proved her credibility as the top contender.
As a result, she was then set to fight for the interim title at ONE Fight Night 25 on October 4 but that has also slipped through her fingers due to an injury to the Filipino fighter.
In a recent interview with The MMA Superfan, Zamboanga spoke about how long her recovery process is set to be and how she is taking things as they come:
"I think, well my therapist said after one or two months, I'll be back to my usual training. It's not really that hard when I think about it."

Denice Zamboanga will be back stronger
Denice Zamboanga's resilience has always been a defining trait of her career.
At ONE 167, even after the biggest fight of her career didn't happen and was taken out of her hands, she stayed focused on the task at hand. Zamboanga came into fight night with the intention of getting her hand raised regardless of the opponent or whether it was a title shot.
Her win over Grandjean showed how focused she is, and that is surely going to be the same case for her recovery from this hamstring injury.
Zamboanga is still in the mix, and she will expect to pick up right where she left off when she makes a full recovery.
ONE Fight Night 25 will air live in US Primetime free for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
