"I'll be in there" - Nico Carrillo wants to fly to Denver to stand face-to-face with Jonathan Haggerty-Superlek winner
Nico Carrillo got his hand raised once again at ONE Fight Night 23 to solidify his status as the number one contender in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.
The Scotsman has done nothing but win and look impressive each time that we have seen him compete under the ONE Championship banner.
For Carrillo, the world championship has always been in his sights and in particular, it's current holder, Jonathan Haggerty.
Despite his emphatic finish over Saemapetch Fairtex on July 5 at Lumpinee Stadium, he will likely need to wait in order to get his deserved shot.
Haggerty is set to put the belt on the line at ONE 168 in Denver on September 6 when he takes on Superlek in one of the biggest fights of the year.
Carrillo spoke after his win in an interview with the South China Morning Post about how he will happily make the trip over to the US to make sure that he is front and center:
"Listen, if the big boss man wants to pay for my flight to Denver, Colorado, and get me front-row seats, I would be absolutely happy to do that. Chatri, if you want me to be there sire, I'll be in there for sure."

Nico Carrillo will be watching very closely
Nico Carrillo is sure to have already thought about how he matches up with both men who will be competing for the world championship at ONE's return to Denver.
Making the trip over means that he can stay right at the forefront of the conversation once the title fight comes to an end.
Carrillo has more than earned his shot and having him in Denver to set up what is next for the winner could be a huge moment for him in his career.
