“I would love for it to end quick” - Jackie Buntan says there will be no feeling out process in world title showdown vs Anissa Meksen
Jackie Buntan hopes to end her night early at ONE 169.
On Friday, Nov. 8, the Boxing Works product will return to the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand for an opportunity to become a ONE world champion for the first time in her career.
Meeting her in the middle of the ring will be Anissa Meksen—one of the most experienced and accomplished fighters in all of combat sports—as the two women battle it out for the ONE strawweight kickboxing world championship.
Looking ahead to their highly anticipated showdown inside the Mecca of Muay Thai, Buntan believes she and Meksen will get right to it and look for an early finish in one of the evening's most anticipated title tilts. Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview:
"I would love for it to end quick, I think any fighter wants an early day in the office".
Buntan goes into her second fight of 2024 with a solid 6-1 record under the ONE Championship banner and is sitting on a trio of wins over Amber Kitchen, Diandra Martin, and Martine Michieletto in her last three outings.
Jackie Buntan knows she's in for a tough test against the accomplished Anissa Meksen
As impressive as Jackie Buntan has looked since making her promotional debut in February 2021, she's never faced an opponent as dangerous or as experienced as Anissa Meksen.
'C18' enters the bout with more than 100 career wins to her credit and is a seven-time world champion, capturing kickboxing and Muay Thai belts in GLORY and under the ISKA and WBC banners.
Recognizing how accomplished Meksen is, Buntan knows that she's got a very tough task ahead of her at ONE 169:
"I have a big task ahead of me and my only job and worry is completing that task and being successful in that".
