"I'm blaming you for my tooth f***ing pain" - Leon Edwards sent Ian Garry to the dentist with the same kick he landed on Kamaru Usman
Ian Garry recently shared details of how current UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards landed the same kick on him that knocked out Kamaru Usman. The Irish UFC fighter was forced to go to the dentist courtesy of 'Rocky's head kick.
Leon Edwards' spectacular knockout victory over Usman at UFC 278 helped his career scale new heights. The Jamaican-born English mixed martial artist has now become a household name and is enjoying his reign as the newly crowned UFC welterweight champion.
Most recently, UFC welterweight prospect Ian Garry was on the receiving end of the famed left high kick while sparring with Leon Edwards in the gym. The after-effects of the impact and subsequent trauma were evidently visible in a video shared by 'The Future' on his Instagram handle.
Garry's wife, Layla Anna-Lee, accompanied him to the dentist, where she was seen jesting and playfully asking him to speak about the incident in the video. Garry replied:
"We went to the hospital this morning because for the last two days I've been in excruciating pain. S**t's f**king shooting up through my face from my teeth."
He further added:
"Anyone watch the Leon Edwards and Usman fight..anyone know how that went? One of the best head kicks in the UFC. I might have felt what that kick felt like on Wednesday morning. So yeah, Leon I'm blaming you for my tooth f**king pain."

Leon Edwards names the next fighter from UK who can join the coveted list of English UFC champions
Leon Edwards joined former middleweight champion Michael Bisping on the list of UFC champions from the UK. Although 'Rocky' acknowledges that Bisping is the first Brit to become a UFC champion, he pointed out an important distinction.
The 31-year-old holds immense pride in the fact that he achieved championship status while training on English soil. The way he sees it, his victory is a testament to the notion that champions can be produced in homegrown gyms instead of traveling to the USA on the hunt for UFC gold.
Edwards expects his journey to inspire a new wave of English fighters that have taken the UFC by storm. Speaking to Express Sport in a recent interview, 'Rocky' named featherweight contender Arnold Allen as the next fighter in line from the UK to capture the coveted UFC gold:
“His path is longer, similar to mine because we’re not loud characters, we do our work silently and get it done. So, I believe Arnold [Allen] , I see him in the gym, I see how hard he works. I see how good he is. I think Arnold will be the next one.”
Allen was last seen inside the octagon against Calvin Kattar at UFC Vegas 63. He won the fight via technical knockout following a knee injury to Kattar. With this, he extended his undefeated streak to 12-0.
