"I'm in the bus with the lads" - Jacob Smith envisions world titles for himself and Liverpool

British Muay Thai standout Jacob Smith foresees a future where he and Liverpool, the legendary English football club, will celebrate their achievements in their respective sports together.

Smith outlined this vision in an interview with the Bangkok Post:

"I live in a town just outside Liverpool called Birkenhead, North Birkenhead specifically. But it's still only a 10-minute drive from Anfield. So I'm gonna win the world title, and Liverpool are going to win the lot. I've already got visions of it."

Smith also added:

"It would be fantastic. A dream come true for me would be to be able to - maybe it's a little bit farfetched - but to be on the bus with them. They win the lot, I win the world title, and I'm in the bus with the lads."

The third-ranked ONE flyweight Muay Thai competitor will look to make that dream a reality when he challenges for the 135-pound Muay Thai crown against Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the co-main event of ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Friday, Nov. 8, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jacob Smith promises stick to his game plan at ONE 169

Jacob Smith is choosing to focus on himself instead of what 'The Iron Man' will do at ONE 169 despite experiencing the extent of Rodtang's skills when they fought in the quarterfinals of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix in May 2022.

Speaking with the South China Morning Post, Smith shared:

"I'm not relying on holes in his game or the mistakes he makes. I just need to be the best me and do what I need to do and my plan regardless of what he does, as it is irrelevant to me."
