“I’m in the final stages of my career” - Kana Morimoto eager to add to her legacy after signing with ONE Championship
Japanese kickboxing star Kana Morimoto is excited to showcase her skills in his new home of ONE Championship and further enhance her legacy as a fighter. 'KANA' announced his switch from K-1 to the 'Home of Martial Arts' in an Instagram post, highlighting how it was a fresh start for her. She went on to add that her end goal is to eventually become a ONE world champion.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Kana Morimoto, 32, spoke about the motivation that moved her to join the ONE Championship roster, saying:
"I'm in the final stages of my career and I believe ONE is the stage where the best in the world gather."
She said that she is eyeing the ONE atomweight kickboxing world title, which is currently in the possession of reigning divisional queen Phetjeeja of Thailand.
Kana Morimoto has a career record of 22-4, with 11 of her victories coming by way of knockout. Her most recent fight took place in December in Japan.

Kana Morimoto is the latest high-profile K-1 fighter to join ONE Championship after kickboxing legends Takeru Segawa and Masaaki Noiri both made the move earlier.
Takeru signed with ONE last year as one of the highly-sought-after free agents in the game. He made his promotional debut back in January, challenging flyweight kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9 in Japan. Unfortunately for him, he came up short on the night and lost via decision to Superlek.
He is set to return to action at ONE Friday Fights 81 on Sept. 27 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and will be taking on Thant Zin of Myanmar in a flyweight kickboxing clash.
Noiri, meanwhile, had his ONE maiden outing in June and also lost by decision to Thai Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.
As for Morimoto, there is no word yet on when she will make her promotional debut, but she has expressed her readiness to get going as soon as possible.
