"I'm going to fight to the best of my ability" - Bokang Masunyane ready to showcase his full arsenal vs. Mansur Malachiev
Bokang Masunyane is looking to put it all together when he returns at ONE Fight Night 25 in search of a big win at strawweight.
'Little Giant' has been one of the top contenders in the strawweight MMA division for some time but now he's hoping to break through. With back-to-back wins over Hiroba Minowa and Keito Yamakita, he's carrying a lot of momentum into Oct. 4 at Lumpinee Stadium.
Standing in his way will be Mansur Malachiev, another top contender who knows what a win here could do for him and his title ambitions.
Masunyane spoke in an interview with ONE Championship ahead of the fight about where he believes he will get the better of his opponent in this fight.
Despite the grappling ability of both men, the South African contender is looking to showcase his overall game:
"I think about the fight a lot and the ways I could win and be superior to my opponent. For this fight, I'm going to fight the best of my ability. I'm going to use my skills more, use my MMA more, because I do have all those skills in the pocket but I don't use them enough. And I'm definitely going to risk it, the better opportunities you get to win."
Bokang Masunyane can capitalize on a big win here
Collecting a third win over Mansur Malachiev would be a big moment for Bokang Masunyane in his career.
The 30-year-old contender has only been defeated once under the ONE Championship banner. Back in 2022, he was submitted by Jarred Brooks, who currently holds the interim title.
If Masunyane is able to win this fight, he could find himself in a position to fight for the strawweight world MMA championship, especially if Brooks is able to unify the belts against Joshua Pacio next time out.
ONE Fight Night 25 will air live in US primetime free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
