"I'm going to be lighting up the house" - Asa Ten Pow ready to set off fireworks in Muay Thai slugfest with KO artist John Lineker
Asa Ten Pow has set the bar high for what fans can expect to see from him at the upcoming ONE 168.
'The American Ninja' has made a strong start to life in ONE Championship during his three-fight stint in the promotion. After suffering a loss on his debut against veteran competitor Mehdi Zatout, he has bounced back in fine fashion by stopping Han Zi Hao and Rambolek Chor Alajaboon.
He now looks to take this form into the biggest fight of his career to date when he makes the walk at the Ball Arena in Denver.
Getting to fight in front of a US crowd is a big deal on its own for Ten Pow, but facing a big name from the MMA world is sure to bring some added bonuses. That's not to mention the fact that former bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker is a fighter who always brings action and excitement.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the American striker told fans that he's looking to make a statement on September 6:
"It's going to be a show of technique and probably a flash of history in the making. So you don't want to blink because I'm going to be lighting up the house."
Asa Ten Pow will get exactly what he wants
If putting on a show for the fans is what Asa Ten Pow wants, then it is exactly what he will get in this fight.
John Lineker has always been an exciting and explosive striker, but that was when he was competing in MMA. Stepping into Muay Thai, where he doesn't need to be concerned about shooting for takedowns or tiring over five-minute rounds, is surely only going to suit his marauder-like style.
This isn't a fight where either man is going to look to slow the fight down in order to chip away for the duration.
As Ten Pow said himself, don't blink.
