“I’m grateful” - Knockout specialist Jeremy Miado pleased to draw ranked opponent Hiroba Minowa

Jeremy Miado is thrilled for the opportunity to test himself against a ranked fighter in the strawweight MMA division.

Returning to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, July 5, 'The Jaguar' will look to fight his way into both the win column and the strawweight top five when he faces No.4-ranked contender Hiroba Minowa at ONE Fight Night 23 on Prime Video.

After scoring four straight wins between 2019 and 2022, Miado looked primed for a shot at ONE Championship gold. Unfortunately, 'The Jaguar' has failed to get his hand raised in his last three outings, coming up short against Mansur Malachiev, Lito Adiwang and Keito Yamakita.

Despite his struggles, Jeremy Miado will have the chance to bounce back in a big way against Minowa.

“I’m grateful to ONE for the trust, Miado said in an interview with spin.ph. "Even though I’ve lost my previous three fights, they still give me a chance to compete. And not just compete, but go at it against a ranked fighter.”

Jeremy Miado ready to hand Hiroba Minowa a fourth-straight loss at ONE Fight Night 23

Hiroba Minowa, like his opponent, will be looking to snap a three-fight skid after dropping bouts to former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks and top-five contenders Bokang Masunyane and Gustavo Balart.

Before that, the 25-year-old standout scored a pair of solid wins over the aforementioned Adiwang and Alex Silva.

Well aware of Minowa's penchant for taking his opponents to the ground, Jeremy Miado believes catching the 13-win veteran early will be key to combating the takedown and ultimately winning the fight.

"Looking at my previous fights, I've learned to be more confident with my strikes," he told ABS-CBN. "I shouldn't really think twice. I have to let my game flow. I have to tag him early so that he'll be the one thinking twice each time he shoots the moment he feels my power."

Who leaves the Mecca of Muay Thai with a much-needed win?

ONE Championship fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 23 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, July 5.
