“I’m literally the Rodtang of jiu-jitsu” - Mikey Musumeci vows all-out attack against Kade Ruotolo at ONE 168: Denver
Reigning and undisputed ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion 'Darth Rigatoni' Mikey Musumeci of the United States can't wait to step back inside the Circle and showcase jiu-jitsu at its best.
He will get the chance to do just that in his next fight when he takes on lightweight king Kade Ruotolo for the opportunity to become a two-division world champion. Yes, Musumeci is climbing an unprecedented three-weight division to take on his fellow American, and he does not plan to let up even one bit.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Musumeci says he only knows how to fight one way, and that's to attack, much like a certain Thai athlete he has become close friends with.
'Darth Rigatoni' said:
"I’m never just defending. I’m just forward every second. I’m literally the Rodtang of jiu-jitsu. But that’s my style. I’m literally going for the finish every second. Yes, I am a butt-scooter. Like, I do pull guard, but I’m forward every second looking to sub the person."
Musumeci has become close friends with reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon over the past couple of years. And the 28-year-old Italian-American star says he will channel some of his pal's energy in the match with Ruotolo.
