“I’m prepared for the worst” - Jarred Brooks says he is mentally prepared to lose everything in any given fight
The American MMA superstar Jarred Brooks has proven himself not only physically, but also mentally, when facing tough tasks in front of him.
Now, the former ONE strawweight king is facing another challenge in Cuba's Gustavo Balart for the interim title showdown at ONE Fight Night 24, and he is prepared for any outcomes that may arise.
Slated to headline the event inside Bangkok's legendary Lumpinee Stadium, Brooks shared his thoughts in an interview with FightWave recently.
'The Monkey God' said:
"Dude, this is the fight game. Anything can happen. And, if you go in there with the expectations that everything is gonna be 100 percent good and you’re gonna walk out spot clean, nothing’s gonna happen, you need to get into another career."
He added:
"But, I go into these fights and I’m just like, I’m prepared for the worst. I’m prepared to die on my shield tonight, it doesn’t matter."
Of course, Brooks did not come out with the statement unprepared. He had done his due diligence by studying his opponent closely, and preparing a proper game plan to get the victory.

Jarred Brooks says Gustavo Balart's striking is basic
Former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks has indeed done his homework for his next task.
Going up against Olympian wrestler Gustavo Balart from Cuba, Brooks said he's not at all worried about his opponent's striking abilities, believing that it would be 'El Gladiador's' weakest link in their interim title fight at ONE Fight Night 24.
'The Monkey God' told ONE Championship in an earlier interview:
"He's very beatable. You could catch him with a kick to the body or a kick to the head. I think the kicks are going to be a big factor in this fight."
ONE Fight Night 24 will air live and free in U.S. primetime to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
