"I'm preparing my mind for hell" - Mikey Musumeci expects a full-on war against 'dangerous' Kade Ruotolo
ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci is ready to create history when he takes to the global stage at ONE 168: Denver.
'Darth Rigatoni' challenges Kade Ruotolo for his lightweight crown in an all-champion tilt inside the Ball Arena on Sept. 6.
Before he attempts to become the first two-division kingpin in the discipline, Cageside Press caught up with the Evolve MMA star to get his assessment on the surefire 10-minute war.
Mikey Musumeci offered:
"I know he's good. I know he's tough. I know he's dangerous. But yeah, I'm preparing my mind for hell. I really am going to go at him, and he's going to come at me."
Musumeci's tie against Ruotolo will be his second appearance of 2024. Earlier this year in June, the New Jersey native exacted revenge in his redo with Gabriel Sousa.
On the other hand, the ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion is back for his fourth fight of the year. Most recently, the Atos athlete opened his MMA account with a first-round submission of Blake Cooper.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu wizards hold a combined record of 14-0 in the promotion. Unfortunately, one of their 0's will have to go when they lock horns in Denver, Colorado, early next month.
